The infinitely curious sojourner
I grew up traversing between countries and cultures, developing an unquenchable thirst for travel and a deep rooted desire to understand people and the world we inhabit. This penchant for seeking out stories makes me dig deep into things that are a little weird and quirky. Things might seem unremarkable or mundane on the surface, but once you start scratching you see a whole world of curiosity peeking through.
Writing professionally for 10 years, I first found my love for writing in Japan’s dynamic music scene. From here I began to explore culture, travel, cuisine, craftsmanship and all things that interested me – which is a long list. I also pen fiction and other travel and culture writing outside of Japan. When I’m not chasing stories and bleeding ink, I drink entirely too much coffee, visit shrines, explore Japan’s music scene and eat my way through the country.
Fun superlatives about me:
Will attempt to make friends with every Shiba dog I come across
I studied fashion design in Sweden
I’m a music junkie. Mostly indie, emo and metal but I can appreciate just about anything
I ask the weird/in-depth/unasked questions
Mom is American, Dad is Swedish – they met in India
I’ve lived in 7 countries (Sweden, England, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Australia, Germany, France) and traveled to 21 countries._
